South BankGeneral Info In antichitate, aceasta zona in apropierea raului Tamisa era cunoscut ca Lambeth si Lower Marsh. Din anul 1951, anul in care a avut loc Festival of Britain, aceasta zona a fost puternic afectata de actiuni de recalificare si, inca in ziua de azi se gaseste intr-o continua extindere. Acest cartier e cunoscut de toti skater-ii din toata lumea, multumita sacarilo si rampelor prezente; experti in skateboard raman uimiti de prezenta sculpturilor dedicate acestui sport. Chiar daca nu sunteti interesati de skate, exista multe lucruri de vizitat in South Bank: Old Vic, Muzeul de Istorie al Gradinaritului, Hayward Gallery, London Eye - roata din Londra - Country Hall si Royal National Theatre, aproape de statia de Metrou Waterloo Station; de nepierdut Imperial War Museum, aproape de statia de Metrou Elephant 6 Castle.
